Club Cards for March

These cards for my Stampers Club held in March, last week, one of them uses a set from Sale a bration (SAB).  This first one uses the set, Bloomin' Marvelous from the SAB catalog, I CASEd this one from Stampin' Connection (a great resource for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators).  I even CASEd the inside.   I call it an explosion card and I had a template from 12 yrs ago when I taught a class in a Scrapbook Store. I inked up the stamps in the colors of the DSP which is also form the SAB catalog and the tiny bow is made using the ribbon from SAB catalog.  The card does not take long to make, the longest time is cleaning the stamp when changing colors!

 Here is a close up of the inside.   It is made with printer paper, folded to pop out when the recipient opens the card.

 This next card is an inspiration from a card I received in a SWAP from last year's SAB Swap!   I couldn't find the card, but I remembered using an embossing folder and some butterflies.  Of course we didn't have the butterfly punches last year, and these punches are great!  They match the stamps perfectly.  I made this card in Marina mist, the color of the ribbon.

Sale a bration (SAB) DSP and ribbon

Here is a card I CASEd  off of Splitcoast Stampers.   I was searching for a specific stamp set, one that is retired and I came across a card.   The person posting said she got the technique from Splitcoast  Tutorials, so I clicked on the tutorials section and searched for Triangle Trifold card, watched both the tutorial and video, then made this card for my friend and neighbor, Kathy.  Of course I never did use the stamp set I was looking for inspiration on using!!!

I used Tangerine Tango as my card base, pool party and whisper white card stock, and I used up some small pieces of the Sycamore Street DSP from SAB and the ribbon is from SAB too.  The cake stamp is from the stamp set, Bring on the Cake which is one of the great Birthday sets from our regular catalog.   I inked the stamp in Island Indigo and use my Daffodil Delight marker for the candles.   

 This verse on this panel is also from the set, Bring on the Cake.

 The inside is from one of the 25th Anniversary Best of Sets, This is the first in that series, Best of Birthdays and the verse below the cake says, "a candle for every year might not be such a good idea...happy birthday!"  I inked the stamp in Island Indigo and since the ink stays wet longer, I was able to emboss the image with clear embossing powder.   This allowed me to color the candles  and some of the cake in with markers without it smearing...

I copied the tutorial and added some retired hardware to slide the ribbon around the card.

Stampin' Club Cards

Here are our Stampin' Club Cards for the month of February:

This first card uses the Spring garden stamp set in the Spring Catalog.   Quick and easy with those framelits that match the stamp set, NO CUTTING!!!!  I CASEd this card from Beth on the Stampin' Connection for Demonstrators !!!  A great perk for being a demonstrator.

This is a card we made at Connie Heisey's meeting, I just changed the colors.  It uses the Patterned Occasions from SAB!!! One of my favorites!!!

Sale a bration is almost over!!

Sale a bration (SAB) is ending on Friday!!!   Yikes, it makes me sad, I have fallen in LOVE with all of the products being offered.   I have used these stamps, punches, papers, embossing folders more than any other SAB before.   SO,  everyday I will showcase some of my cards I have made.   Most of these cards were inspired by my swaps from other demonstrators (it is a great network of people), Stampin' Connection (a huge online resource to demonstrators only) or I even dreamed a few of these up myself!!!

I can't turn this picture around!!!  uggh!   It is right in my camera and on computer, but when I choose it, and bring it to my blog, it changes the direction!!!    This card was inspired by my downline, Diane Rivers and our SAB swap.   I changed the colors, to match the SAB DSP and changed where my ribbon was placed.  This card uses 3 different SAB items, the DSP which I love and am almost finished one package of it, the stamp set, Pretty Petites and coordinating punch, Petite Curly Label punch.  The punch will be available for purchase after SAB, but not the other items.

In Color Thank You cards

 I needed to make some Thank You cards and decided to pull out some of my soon to retire In Color 2011-2013 Designer Series Paper, matching card stock, matching ink and matching ribbons.   These cards were super easy and quick to make.   I used the stamp set from the Catalog, Creative Elements for the flower.  The Thanks is a Free stamp from Sale a bration, Vintage Verses.  FREE with a $50 purchase....It is one of several items you could choose for FREE, there are stamp sets, embossing folder, ribbons and buttons, Designer series paper and more. Only 1 more week to take advantage of Sale a bration!!!

Sympathy Card

The other day, a friend who happens to be one of my downline..was saying she needed to make a few cards, one of them a Sympathy Card.   I told her I had just seen a Sympathy card on Jill Hilliard's blog, using a stamp set I had lent her, and I challenged her to make it.  I said, "Just CASE it"!  I then challenged myself to CASE that same card too. 

As I starting pulling out some card stock, inks and looking thru my stamp sets to choose one like the one Jill used, since my friend had mine....I decided to change it up a bit.   I used a different embossing folder, stamp set and punch (for the sentiment).  


Here is my creation and I stamped on the inside too!

I stamped the background flower in Sahara Sand and to get the red center of the flower, I made a mask using a piece of a post it note and I cut it in a small oval shape.  I put the mask on the stamp, inked the stamp in basic black ink, removed the mask (with tweezers to keep my fingers clean) and used a real red marker to stamp the flower.   I added some black marker on the stamp and re stamped the 2nd time.

I stamped the inside with the same colors.

Stampin' Success creation

One of the benefits I LOVE of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is all the inspiration from Stampin' Connection (a cool site just for demos to share), their website, demos sharing what they LOVE and the Stampin' Success magazine that we receive every other month.   The magazine has lots of tips, techniques, samples of cards using the latest products and stamps.   I opened the cover and there was a really simple card on the inside cover, right next to the picture of Shelli (the CEO and co founder of Stampin' Up!)

 

My Mom had just order the set from the Spring catalog, Make a Wish, and I haven't sent it to her yet in Florida, and I know she won't mind me using it...hehehe

 

I am not sure if I am allowed to post a picture from the magazine and will wait til Monday and call Stampin' Up!, but in the meantime, here is my card:

 

The card in the magazine was horizontal and mine is vertical.   I used the same technique of burnishing color and then using a aqua painter to pull color from the center out.   I also used a Daffodil Delight Card and a Tangerine Tango layer in addition to the stamped layer.   I added one more strip of card stock at the bottom and one more staple.
