Swirly Bird masculine birthday

I needed a few quick Happy Birthday cards and some for masculine cards.   Swirly Bird to the rescue, oh and Pinterest too!    Saw this card done by Jackie Bolhuis on Pinterest, so I changed up the ink colors, the word -  Birthday and the inside greeting, but basically the same.

Do you CASE cards on Pinterest?   How do you search for a card?   I did a search for masculine birthday cards Stampin' Up! and found this card.    This card was so quick and easy, 3 colors, Bermuda Bay, Lemon Lime Twist and Black.    For the inside of the card, I used the verse from Big on Birthdays and used the same two colors of ink,  Bermuda Bay and Lemon Lime Twist.

My sister made a few cards using Emerald Envy and Bermuda Bay.  These cards were super simple to make.  Here are her two cards, one Portrait and one Landscape.   The hardest part was adhering the Happy.   We tried the Sizzix adhesive sheets that Stampin' Up! sells.....that didn't work out too well, lots of sticky on our fingers but not on the word "happy".   Fine tip glue pen to the rescue!  We put the glue on the back of the word "happy" in a lot of places and then pressed and held down the word for about 40 seconds and it stayed.  A few minutes later, I took the adhesive eraser and erased the excess glue that was on the card.

The card took about 10 minutes - maybe less to make from cutting the cardstock, stamping, die cutting the Happy, die cutting the banner and stamping the birthday on the banner in white craft ink and heat setting it to the complete assembly.   When you pull out cardstock to make a card, make 2 cards...since you are cutting the cardstock in two for the card base, you might as well use both pieces!

ENJOY!

CASEing Stampin' Up! Daisy Delight

Are you a CASEr?   I sure am, most projects I make are CASEd from somewhere.   There is so many places to CASE from..... Pinterest, Splitcoast Stampers, Blogs, Blog Hops, Google, Classes, cards you receive in the mail, cards in stores and so many other places.  Several times I have been in line at the Post Office getting postage stamps and they sell cards - looking at these cards, I have taken photos of them to CASE later on.

They are still there on my phone...

Today I am working on changing some of my habits.   WHY??   I have a goal - I would love to earn the next Stampin' Up! grand trip to the Greek Isles.   Earning this trip starts Oct 1st and the earning period goes through September 30th, 2018.

There, I have said my goal, on print for everyone to see, it is no longer just a wish, but now a GOAL.

One of my habits I am changing.....Business hours, not endless hours surfing the internet accomplishing nothing but saving some photos of projects to CASE!

Planned ahead projects for classes, blog posts, Facebook page posts.  The size of my home does not have enough space to hold classes, so I will be searching the area for venues to hold classes.   Currently I hold 1 class a month about 35 minutes north of my home...and I hold the same lasses in Maryland when I visit every month for 6-7 months of the year.   SO I am looking to do more classes in Florida, home parties and online parties too.   Facebook Live videos too.   Since I am retired, I have no other job to do other than Stamp!  Just fun!

Here is my CASE.   My longtime friend and stamper, Joyce sent me a text with a photo of a card she made... I really liked it and need some similar type cards and I thought I am going to CASE that.  A few hours later, sitting at my computer I checked my email and there was a message from Pinterest.  It was a message from Joyce showing me the Pinterest card she CASEd, so.   I stopped what I was doing and starting putting the card together, pulling out DSP and card stock in the colors that are in the DSP.  I used mostly everything that was used in the card on Pinterest, except as I was scrolling up to the top of the page, I saw another card using the Daisy Delight stamp set using the leaves, so I used them too.

Do you CASE or not?  If you CASE, where do you get your ideas to CASE?   Leave a comment and I will choose a random winner to receive this card.  You have until September 20th.

Here are the details of my card:

Stamp Sets:  Daisy Delight, and Thoughts and Prayers
Ink colors:   Pool Party, Old Olive and Night of Navy
Card Stock colors:  Calypso Coral card, layer of Pool Party and layer of Whisper White card stock
The DSP is Delightful Daisy and the colors I chose are in the colors of the DSP
so I didn't have figure out what colors to use Stampin' Up! does the that work for me.
Accessories:   Daisy punch, paper snips to cut those leaves out, dimensionals , mini glue dots, snail and Tombow mono adhesive, Glitter enamel dots and Dapper Denim bakers twine (it so close to Night of Navy I don't think anyone would notice the difference.
