New Blog Header

My new blog header has only taken me about 3 hrs to do.   It is off center, but hey, I did it.   AND  I did it using My Digital Studio!!!    I have been trying to teach myself My Digital Studio (MDS) and the first thing I learned today....I need to install the 2nd disk that came with MDS!!!   Of course, the MDS disks are home in my stamp room and I am down the ocean, hon.....

I am here with my friend, Kim for a stamp/scrapbook weekend.   She has a condo here in Ocean City, Md and we are getting a lot accomplished.   I knew I was going to play around with MDS, but now that I know most of the "stuff" I want to do on MDS is on that 2nd disk, it will have to wait til later in the week when I have time.

Stampin' Up!'s new catalog is only a few weeks away and on Tuesday, they will announce the Last Chance List.   These will be the retiring stamp sets, colors, and accessories.   The colors will be the first to go, and already sage shadow card stock is gone.   AND today I visited my website, http://www.stampergirl.stampinup.net/ and checked the clearance rack and there are 5 pages of items on sale, clearance....a few I was surprised to see.   If you are searching for some bargains, that is the place to go, just click on the link to my website, and click shop now and clearnace and shop away.   This is the only way to purchase items from the clearance rack...

Stampin' Up! announced that starting Tuesday, June 1st - June 30th, they are going to have a n' aMini Start Kit for just $99.   If you have been thinkin' about join' Stampin' Up!, or need some extra money, want the discount, THIS IS THE TIME.   Contact me for more information or questions.

OK, now to go for a walk on the beach.....maybe a picture tomorrow.

Blog Banner change

Notice my blog banner????   Well, I did that on My Digital Studio....a digital scrap booking, card making and more software from Stampin' Up!   I am not at all competent with it....yet.   I do plan on learning more...like how to move the word Life over so that it can be read easily.   AND how to fill the whole space with the banner...and so much more....so stay tuned.   Somewhere on my blog soon, I will have my picture back on the blog, just not at the banner.

ENJOY!   and keep stamping

Flight of the Butterfly

I just ordered the butterfly punch that is in the catalog and decided to use it right away. Here are a few cards I made, CASEd from Ilina, a fellow demo. They were pretty quick and easy cards and I used some scraps of retiring cameo coral and gable green cardstocks.

ENJOY!

Branch Out

Yesterday I held an Open Stamp or Scrap all day from 1pm til midnight and beyond.... Total stampers for the day --- 6. I was able to start and finish 4 cards and get some other cards started. I should have made everyone give me a count of how many cards were completed.....I wonder if we could have made it into Guiness World Book!!! I know Phylis made at least 6 or more. Stacy brought about 20 cards started and finished them all. Maria, well I know she got a lot done...she is one fast stamper. Judy stopped by and got some ideas on a few stamping projects, and the winner of getting things done......Terries....She came very late and we worked til 1am and cut out, embossed, punched items that will make 150 favors for her Mom's 75th Birthday Party.
Here are two cards I made using the retired....boohoo, Branch Out....I just love that set.
I also used some soon to be retired or retired colors, Pale plum, Kiwi Kiss....but just you wait. I saw the new In Colors and you are gonna love 'em!!!

LIGHT BULB MOMENT!!!

Do you belong to my club of straight-line challenged? Well I have some great news. I was making a card sample for my club project when I thought how can I paper pierce a straight line, the paper or template always move.....????.... I went to reach for my paper piercer and noticed two pins sitting in a little cup...I thought, hey WAIT A MINUTE....I can put one at each end and it will hold the card stock from moving and pierce the first and last holes at the same time!!! It worked like a charm.

Fifth Avenue Floral Mother's Day card

Here is the card I made for my Mom for Mother's day. Of course, she didn't get the card til today. I mailed it last Wednesday from Maryland and it didn't arrive in Florida til today. That was probably the longest time ever for her to get a card I sent. I used the watercolor technique with reinkers, shimmer white cardstock and water. If you want to learn this technique, let me know and we can have a watercolor class. I colored the ribbon with reinkers and spritzed water on it too, then used the heat tool to dry and of course it scrunched the ribbon, but I like the effect.

Here is a card using Pick A Petal. I used some retiring colors, Bordering blue, crushed curry, and current colors real red and certainly celery. These colors were part of a color challenge - I think they look good together. The stamp set, Pick a Petal is so versatile...I have made cards looking like flowers, bows, faces, dragonflies and more It took me less than 5 minutes to make this card. Thanks to fellow SU demo, Wendy for the inspiration.
