Fab Friday Challenge, TRULY Grateful...CASE of a Convention Swap...again

This summer I attended Stampin' Up!'s 25th Anniversary Convention, it was a blast and this year I made 150 card swaps and 80, 3x3 card swaps.    Year after year, I make swaps, and swap at convention and come home, put a few on my display board and the rest are tucked carefully in a box (or two), never to be seen again, until I reuse them for Ronald McDonald House cards to donate.   WELL, this year I have made a goal, actually a few goals.   First, I am determined to use most of the swaps either as a CASE or at least inspiration for a stamp set.   SO most of the cards are sitting in 2 boxes with the lids off so I can look thru them for inspiration!   I have used 8 cards to CASE and 4 3x3 cards to CASE.   My 2nd goal was to send 20 cards to people each month, not for their birthday, but for no reason, or just cause I was thinking about them....After all, I do sell products to make cards!!!!!!!DUH, July,, I sent 26, August 22, and September - so far 7.   Third, to reach my $100,000.00 Lifetime Sales by December 31st.    Only $1621. to go, I know I will make it.
I am SO Grateful for so many things, my husband, my children, grandchildren, my health, my family, my friends, and the list goes on!   I am Thankful, yes, truly grateful for so much, my customers, who are now my friends you have helped me get this far.   I love what I do and I try to share as much as I can.

Tonight while stamping and looking on blogs, fb and more, I read an email from a blog I subscribe to, Fab Friday....their challenge are fall colors, chocolate chip, crushed curry, soft sky, Sahara sand and tangerine tango.   I just made a card, CASing a Convention Swap for my upline's meeting using those cards (minus the Soft Sky).    I decided to enter this for the Fab Friday Challenge, not that I can win a prize (I have no idea whether there is a prize), but to share.   So here is the Convention Swap from Tina (do not know the last name) and then my CASE for this Fab Friday 26 Color Challenge

Tina's card used Daffodil Delight, white and black, so simple, but beautiful!

Here is my CASE, I used chocolate chip for the card base and the layer behind the stamped image.   I used crushed curry embossed with the woodgrain embossing folder and sponged a little of the chocolate chip on top.   I cut a strip of Sweater weather DSP 2 x 4 and placed on top of the woodgrain embossed layer.   I stamped the background from Truly Grateful Stamp Set in the Holiday catalog using Sahara Sand ink on Very Vanilla cardstock, and stamped the wheat and Truly Grateful in chocolate chip ink.   I colored the wheat using crushed curry and chocolate chip markers and aqua painter and the tangerine tango marker.   I didn't have any Candy Dots in any of these colors, so I colored in some pearls using a brown sharpie marker.  They actually look like Cajun craze, but it was just a brown sharpie.   I popped the stamped image using the WONDERFUL Stampin' Up! Dimensionals.

  1. Such a pretty fall card! I like how you used the basic layout to CASE but changed it up…the woodgrain embossing is a great backdrop to the sheaf of wheat! Thanks for sharing at Fab Friday!
