Sunflower Club Card

This summer I had to change the dates of all of the clubs, June July and August!   Finally, this weekend we had our Stamp Club for August.   Like I mentioned a few days ago, I am trying to commit to using my swap cards I received at Convention for inspiration and CASEing and I did !

At Convention I participate in a 3x3 card swap and this is one great swap, I get so many ideas not only for this 3x3 card, but ideas to adapt for a regular size card.  I do use the 3x3 cards though and carry them in a small tin in my purse to put my tip for my server at a restaurant when I get good service, or when I get helpful service anywhere.  Each month at Stamp Club I offer a 3x3 card for them to make as an incentive to come to Club.

I CASEd all the cards this month.    The first card was a combination of two of my swaps.   This first swap, I have no idea who made this swap, it was in a clear plastic envelope and the creators name was there and now I can't locate it.   If this is your swap from Convention, let me know so I can give you credit.

When I saw this card I knew I wanted to use my sunflower stamp.   It is a large stamp, one I had to have! it is a wood mount stamp and I had never even mounted it, let alone use it!   I used some of the same colors for one of my convention swaps, so I wanted to do something a bit different, but still using the sunflower stamp.   I  saw this swap made by Elaine Schader, loved everything about it, but I don't own the Dahlia stamp set YET, so I decided to use the sunflower stamp instead.

Here is the club card I came up with.   I used a Baked brown sugar card base, the embossed layer is Crisp Cantaloupe, embossed with the new Pretty Print Textured embossing folder from the Holiday catalog.   The image was stamped in Crisp Cantaloupe and layered onto a calypso coral layer.   I stamped the hello in Calypso Coral on white cardstock and layered onto a baked brown sugar cardstock,  I used the oval framelits for the greeting layers.

I'll save the other cards for another post....so stay tuned

Have a Great Weekend,

ENJOY!

Blooming with Kindness & By the Tide Swap cards

When I came home from my last vacation to Iowa, I wanted to continue making cards from the swaps I received at Convention.   I pulled one of my swaps using Blooming with Kindness, grabbed a pack of DSP, my stamp set, a clear block, ink, cardstock and some embellishments in the colors to match the DSP (THANKS SU for coordinating everything for me) and put my paper trimmer and these items in a bag (a 31 bag from my daughter, Robyn) and headed off to Stamp Night with my fellow stampers.  During the evening, I managed to cut the cardstock and DSP, stamp and embellish and put the card all together, 10 of them!   and spend an awesome evening my my friends, chatting, sharing our lives while creating projects.

Here is the swap card from Convention from Victoria Carothers and My CASE of her card.

I used the DSP from Sale a bration....I loved that paper, in fact I got a 2nd package of it during Sale a bration.   I used the colors, Calyspo Coral and Island Indigo, both In Colors that were put into the regular colors that we have.   I also used the ribbon from Sale a bration too!    The greeting, I borrowed from my friend, Diane and have no idea what company the stamp is from or if it is an old Stampin' Up! one.

I hope you get some inspiration from these cards and CASE them too.    When you do CASE them, if you can, email me pictures of your creations and I will post them here on my blog.

ENJOY!

Side pocket card

I saw this style card on Diane Sisneros' blog and wanted to try it out right away.   I changed it to hold a small card and check I was sending someone.

I used some retired card stock, Baja Breeze for the card base.   The embossed layer is soft suede and I had that piece in my scrap folder, already embossed. I used some retired, but one of my favorite DSP's, Elegant Soirre for the pocket and the mini card inside the pocket.  I punched out some blossoms from the blossom punch in Baja breeze and sponged some of the same color on the edges.   I layered these with a glue dot in between them. I stamped one if the images from Mixed Bunch in Baja breeze and sponged some color on the edges and layered onto the other flowers with a glue dot.  I added a little crystal effects to the center of the blossom.   The card insert, I started with a piece of DSP that was 3 1/2"  x 4" and folded it in half to 2", then angled the edges so it would fit inside the pocket.   I did not measure how much I cut off the edge, but it fit In the pocket and held the check, folded up.  The greeting is from the set, Many Thanks.

ENJOY!

Flower Shop cards to share!

It has been such a busy summer for me and I have not been posting as much as I would like.   SO, now that summer is almost over :(  I hope to post consistently.    I have been stamping and have lots to share....

For the past 3 years, I have met up with a fellow Stampin' Up! demo in Iowa a couple weeks after convention.  I share my swaps and she shares things she has done.   THEN WE STAMP.   This year I let her pick some of my swaps she would like to recreate (as long as we had the stamp set).   Here are the swap cards and what we chose to make:

This first card is the swap I received at convention from Mary Hodgman

And here are the cards I made using the colors, inks, tools and stamps we had.  We did some major stamping, each making 5 cards.   It was easy, if you are cutting cardstock and making a mess, you might as well make a bunch of cards, instead of just 1.  I should have taken pictures of Becky's cards because they looked different than mine.

This card is actually not from a swap at convention, but from Connie Heisey's Monthly Meeting as a Make and Take

And here are my creations....We used some of the ribbon from last year's SAB.   I did not like that ribbon at all, it was so flimsy and small that I had a hard time using it.   BUT now I don't have any left.  WOOHOO.

We used the Flower shop stamp set for these cards too because I had it with me and it was already mounted on blocks, we just had to clean the ink off from the stamps...The Thank You on the card on the right is from the Hostess set, Express Yourself, I have used that set SO much and I have only had it since June!

That's all for today!   I hope some of these cards inspire you to create.

Where have I been????? New Single Stamps - For the Holidays!!!

Where have I been????   Well, this summer has been a busy one and in June I went  to Florida for two weeks with my youngest daughter, Robyn, visiting my Mom, Disney World, the Beach and of course some stamping with my Mom....

July --  I was in Salt Lake City, Utah at Stampin' Up's! 25th Anniversary Convention, which was AWESOME!!  Lots of Prize Patrol, World Record Broken (for most cards sent from one place) and got to meet up with friends I have made over the years at Stampin' Up events and made some new friends too.  My upline Carol and I took a hike up to Cecret Lake in the Cottonwood Valley....beautiful and showed me just how out of shape and overweight (and old!! can't change that) I am!  Still a lot of fun.

August - My husband and I just returned from a trip to Iowa (spectators at Sprint car racing) and on the way, we visited many places, among them....Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, Boat trip around Cleveland,  Boat trip to Beaver Island,  boat trip across Lake Michigan in the SS Badger,  Boat trip on Wisconsin River in the Upper Dells!  Beautiful.   Pella, Iowa, for racing at nearby Knoxville Raceway.  During the day, visited some local shops and one of the days I met up with a demo I connected with a few years ago, and I share my swaps from convention and we stamp.
